I recently built a gaming pc and whenever I play for more than 4 hours and shut down the pc it turns right back on. Please help. Is it something with one of the components?

There is a good chance that either the graphics card (if you have one) is faulty. But another possibility is that your computer isn't getting enough power. This is tricky because it can be caused by a bad power supply or even a bad outlet that you are plugging your computer into.

yeah. If you are using an intel or amd chip with integrated graphics you can simply remove the graphics card and run some games on the cpu alone. The games will probably lag more but it's really the only thing you can do without having another graphics card or power supply handy. It might not even be a good test because your computer will use less energy and without the graphics card. But I have a better feeling that it is the graphics card because usually a computer will shut down with in 30 min if it's the power supply and most computers have a notification in the BIOS if it wasn't getting enough power.

So without a spare card it's hard to check but you can test everything else without the card if you have the CPU for it.

I had a graphics card once that when I started to play game it would cause my screen to turn colors then restart my computer. It doesn't have to be totally not working for it to be faulty.

Try unplugging the power button cable from the motherboard (the one from the case) maybe it's sorted but then it would probably turn it off too... I don't know worth a try until we think of something else
