Hi all,

Abit of a noob here when it comes to tweaking BIOS etc. I just built my new PC which includes i7 4790K and the Maximus VII Hero Motherboard. I have an issue with the CPU temps hitting 100 degrees( in prime95) because of the bios settings i believe as I changed to some earlier i found and it curved it to 78. I know i may need to reseat my 212 cooler with thermal paste properly as never done it before this one, but still know the 100 degrees isnt right.

Without going into detail too much, when updating the bios do i do it in the version increments? as my mobo is about 4 versions out of date.. so would i do each version till i get to the latest or should i just go straight for the latest?

If anyone can tell me the best way to do this also.

Thanks

No. The latest bios version contains all previous versions or at the least, supercedes them. You only need to have the latest version installed, not all versions along the way.
