I never heard of HIS until I found it in memory express and it was cheaper than most gpu brands like msi and Asus. Can someone please tell me if it is a trusted gpu brand or not?

Solution
I returned a HIS HD6790 that quit for indeterminate reasons. The RMA process was not difficult, and I got a working card back. Keep in mind that almost all RMA processing is done by third-party companies, and any of them may have issues.
If you are playing on a single 1920x1080 monitor, 2GB should be sufficient, so I might choose MSI in that case. HIS is decent, imho, but I like MSI for video cards just a little more. If you like to overclock, I'd expect better results from MSI. Are the clock speeds the same on the two cards?

i bought 3 gpu's from HIS over the holidays due to some very nice rebates. i will never deal with them again after the nonsense they pulled on me. a total of $110 worth of rebates were denied one at a time for the dumbest reasons i have ever seen. they would not talk to me on the phone, email or anything until their 60 day appeal window was closed then all of a sudden the email address worked but of course it "was too late to do anything" so basically i got screwed out of $110 bucks by them due a rebate scam they were running. newegg tried to intervene for me but got nowhere as well. they agreed HIS was way out of line and actually credited me with some of the rebates since HIS was clearly not willing to do it themselves. hooray for newegg, boo for HIS.

the cards themselves, 2 r9-270x's and a 270 are actually nice cards. they run cool and quiet but i refuse to deal with a company that is so dishonest nor will i recommend them to others. i'd stick to a company that actually deserves your business. their rma and service is pretty bad as well from what i have read while researching them after the rebate hassle.

^^^THIS, is exactly why we usually recommend avoiding second tier manufacturers.

i took a chance and paid the price. :(

but $100 for an r9-270 and $125 for a 270x was too good to pass up so i game them a try. thank goodness newegg offered some relief and gave me half the rebates in credits (perhaps ordering $1000+ a week from them helps a bit as well). but i swear i will tell this tale until i die anytime anyone asks about HIS. they will never see a dime from me or any of my clients again that's for sure.

I have used a fair number of HIS cards over the years. I've been generally pleased. I believe they offer a bottom-dollar model and then a "better" version, and I have seen some quality complaints about the dregs versions. This would not be unique to HIS, but is something to be aware of when ordering.
Bottom line, I'd buy HIS again, but not the cheapest in a line.

Yes they are around the same clock speed, Tysm for helping me choose which one, (obviously msi) and yes I will be playing 1080 1 monitor, but I also have a question, can the msi r9 380 gaming 2g 2gb play 1080@ 120 hz?

happy to offer my "opinion" :D

i buy a crazy amount of parts and really have no brand loyalty and tend to get what is the good deal at the time. that is until this experience with HIS. they are literally the only brand i avoid of all of them, that says a little bit about how i felt i was treated. even newegg agreed they were being stupid!!

as i said, i actually do like the card, it works nicely. very quiet and cool cards.
enjoy the new card either way
