Can bad Cat6 cables or jacks cause internet to drop out?

My internet keeps dropping out, but the connection is dropping at the modem. I had a new cable service installed at my house after I moved in. I have constantly been on the phone with the cable company for a couple of weeks now. They have replaced my modem twice and even sent a technician out to test the signal quality. Everything supposedly checked out. However, my connection still drops. The only thing I have done is installed two wall jacks so I could connect to my desktop which sits in the room adjacent to my router. The run inside my wall was only maybe 3ft and I am using two 4ft Cat6 cables that I made myself to connect the router and computer to the wall jacks. I am just wondering if a bad connection in a cable or jack could cause my issue? I wouldn't think so, but i figured I would ask.

Side note: Initially I only had my PS4 hooked directly into the router (before I had the desktop setup and the wall jacks installed) and I didn't notice any problems with my internet as I streamed movies on it.

YES, bad cables can cause drops. If there are too many problems, the hardware might reset the port to clear the errors...

Did you follow the color code (568B) for ALL your connections?

Go buy three commercial cables. Two short cables to replace your cables to the wall and one long cable to completely bypass your in-wall jacks. Start with the two short ones. If you still have problems test with the long one.

I tried your idea and have ran a long cable directly to the modem. Same issue, but I have noticed that it does it only during the day. At night I have no issues.
