Hello,

So i had a EVGA 780 GTX sc acx cooler for 2 years and 3 months now. I loved it but unfortunately it started crashing whenever i started up my computer.
So i contacted the online store i bought it from and asked if they could send it to EVGA so i could get a replacement, as i've got 3 years warranty. Now after 6 weeks i finally get word from the store.
EVGA is sending me a GTX 960 SSC acx 2.0. It'll be here tomorrow .
Now i understand that this is a newer model but isn't the GTX 960 ssc a much weaker card then the GTX 780 sc ? I kinda feel like i'm getting ripped off here. Might be wrong but doesn't the GTX 780 sc, performance wise, fall between the newer GTX 970 and the GTX 980 ? Shouldn't the GTX 970 sc make more sense ?
This is the first time i've rma'ed something so.... is this normal ? Is there anything i can do ?

Thanks for reading this.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Solution
Time to test EVGAs "legendary" customer service. Call them and let them know that:
1) They sold you a defective card.
2) When they tried to replace it, they gave you a weaker card with less VRAM.
3) The millions of visitors to Tom's Hardware are eagerly awaiting their response.
