I have a question i run into a LOT. I have 4 GB of RAM on my computer but only 3.43 of it is usable. My BF wants me to download games that require 4 GB of RAM. Is that safe? I don't know much about how computers work so Im asking you all. I'd ask him but he normally just tells me its alright because he wants me to play. But should something happen to my computer, I cant really afford to get it fixed or buy new parts. I would appreciate any helpful answers! Here's some info on my computer:

Processor: AMD A4-5000 APU with Radeon(TM) HD Graphics 1.50 GHz
Installed RAM: 4.00 GB (3.43 GB usable)
System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Windows Edition: Windows 8.1

Solution
It is perfectly safe. Nothing will break. The only problem you might run into is performance issues.
If it says the minimum requirement is 4GB then it's talking about the 4GB and not the usable amount. Either way it is the minimum requirement.
You're not going to be able to play very demanding games because you are using integrated graphics and have no graphics card so you'll have to lower the settings in the game depending on which games you're going to be playing.

Thanks for your reply! Ive been playing Forsaken World but every now and then my computer freezes and I have to hold down the power button to get it to turn off. I cant stand doing that so I was just going to uninstall the game. The one he wants me to get is something called Mabinogi. Would a graphics card make games better?

Yes, even a cheap graphics card would be a huge improvement over integrated graphics. Cheap is probably going to run somewhere between $100-$200, but if you save up and get one then you shouldn't be experiencing as many problems. Plus if you want more RAM then buying another stick is fairly inexpensive these days, but I would focus primarily on the graphics card if you're on a budget.
