I have had a stable PC since the end of April of 2015.
MSI z97 PC mate
corsair vengeance 8 gb (tw 4gb sticks)
i5 4690k
Radeon 270x (msi)
ozc 500w modular psu
A few days ago I was reading the news and it just shut off, like the power went out on the house.
Now the system fans will spin up, and I can hear the drives spinning up, but nothing else. The screen is black and no post. I read the sticky thread in the forum and went over it twice. I decided it must be the mobo or psu. I ordered a new mobo from newegg and bought a 750w corsair modular power supply.
I stripped the unit down to start over, and the exact same thing.
What I have tried so far:
flashing the CMOS
individually testing the batteries and psus with a voltmeter
completely removing anything attached to pc except power from psu
putting each of the two memory sticks in all 4 slots 1 at a time
Again, I replaced mobo and power supply to no avail. Any ideas on what it might be? what are the chances of an intel processor just a few months old going bad?
Thanks in advance for any help.
