Hello!

I desire to buy an AMD R9 390 as my next card. I desire to overclock it as well. That is my main concern. Power consumption and heat are not a concern for me, I just desire performance.

So, what do you recommend? Which one of them I should buy?

Not sure. It looks like the MSI R9 390 Gaming uses a non-reference board, so it might OC better, but 2 fans means hotter as well (benchmarks show it running @ ~71C).

The R9 390 owners club has the OC list of its members http://www.overclock.net/t/1561704/official-amd-r9-390-390x-owners-club The two highest OCs are on the MSI. Silicone lottery exists though, so who knows.

I would say one of these two cards https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/compare/powercolor-video-card-axr93908gbd5ppdhe%2Csapphire-video-card-100382ntocl/ will have the best cooling. As to which one will be better, it's hard to say. The Nitro might cool slightly better because of the copper heatpipes, but the reviews seem to think the PCS+ cools better. It won't be a huge difference one way or the other though.

I'm going with the Sapphire R 9-390 because of the cooling fans and backplate and sense I have a large case length is n't a problem for me.
