I'm travelling to America in a few weeks time and with the huge price difference between all components has made me seriously consider getting the 980. Firstly though, a few numbers.
UK:
GTX 970 - £270
GTX 980 - £350 - £450 (Average around £400)
USA:
GTX 970 - $300 - £192
GTX 980 - $450 - £288
You can see that the 980 in the US is about the same price as the 970 in UK!!
Now, this also brings up a slightly unrelated question for anyone that knows, what, if any, costs/charges would there be if I have a graphics card in my hand carry or packed luggage at the Airport in America and/or when arriving back into UK?
However, £288 is still a little high for me. Is the extra £90 worth the 980 upgrade? To me it seems it definitely is, but I guess that means the REAL question is; Can I buy one in the US and just bring it over with me? lol ._.
