I have recently upgraded my GTX 660 2gb to a GTX 960 2gb. I have a 550PSU and a i7 4770 processor. I believe that I have installed the driver software correctly. My problem is that when I start windows I can not start it in normal mode and can only do it in safe mode. Whenever I try to start up in normal mode the monitor will turn off with a message saying no signal detected. I am not sure what the problem is and dont know where to start.

Updating my drivers wont work in safe mode so I could really use a hand!

This is my first attempt at upgrading parts of my computer so I may have made a simple mistake.

There may be something wrong with the new card. But try this...
Put the old card back in, boot to Win and run CCleaner: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
Do the Clean and Registry portions both.

Then run DDU from safe mode to remove any Nvidia and AMD driver it finds. http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Shut down and swap out cards. See if you can boot to Windows normally. If so, install the latest driver for the card.

If still no joy, I'd consider RMA'ing the card.
