Hi,

Actually I have been a die hard AMD fan. AMD always offered better performance for good money. Actually R9 380 defeats the GTX 960 sometimes by roughly 5fps. The worst problem I faced with AMD Radeon was V-Sync issues. Nvidia offers a good technique called adaptive vsync. It doesn't reduce much performance. So the solution is straightly by Nvidia.

But if you purchase Nvidia you have use 3rd party unofficial softwares like RadeonPro. Actually Tearing is a very bad headache. Though It won't be a problem if you have 120/144Hz monitor or AMD freesync monitor.

And performance wise, R9 380 is basically an overclocked R9 280 with better tessellations. So there's very little overclocking potential left. But Maxwell cards like GTX 960...

I took a close look at the GPU's and it looks like their both very close in performance. For me I recommend that you go with the MSI Radeon. Their products are known to be very reliable and performs exceptionally well.

Actually 2GB of vram is outdated now. You should get the 4GB version.

Assuming that your budget is around 800$, I created a new build as few of your components are not fully compatible. I included a GTX 970, If that's too much go with the GTX 960 4GB
