Hey there everyone. So my question for the day deals with my gpu.

I currently have a Radeon R9 270x 4gb. And I get great power and love it. Though when watching a stream on one monitor and playing CS on the other on all high settings I drop to about 25 fps.

I was wondering can I crossfire with a weaker card? Basically one that is roughly half as strong as my current (and half the price). Would this then allow me to have 1.5x the performance I have now? I know that it would again need to be 4gb and the same speed I think but could I crossfire a strong and weak card?

Solution
The 270x will only crossfire with a 270x, 270, 7870Ghz, 7870 or a 7850. When you crossfire the fastse card will actually slow down to to match the slower card and you will only have the available vram of the smallest card, so if you xfire a 4gb card and a 2gb card you will only have 2gb of usable vram. How much boost you get from the 2nd card depends on the game.
