Hey guys!

I've had this self-built computer at home for 2 years now and it has worked perfectly, but now i've got an issue!

While gaming the computer can shut itself off unexpectedly, and when starting again a screen called American Megatrends pops up. I later press f1, then get to choose my ssd to boot my comp as usual again. I can always do this, but want the crashing to stop! Can somebody help me?

I've got a asus motherboard, nvidia 670, intel i5, corsair cx 600 power supply thing. If you want more details just ask!

Thats doesn't make it good, it just makes you lucky(so far). I agree with Tiny voices the only current Coolermaster units that are any good are the V and VS(both are usually overpriced). Most of Coolermasters PSU range from mediocre to garbage(and most are overpriced). I wouldn't touch a Coolermaster thunder with a 10ft pole. I'd put it in the same category as the Corsair CX.

Temps don;t have anything to do with the PSU. Nothing.

You need to be worried about what you CANNOT monitor. The PSU is made with bottom tier components. YOu need to be worried about something failing like a capacitor (happens all the time with junk PSUs) and frying the PC.

Replace that PSU.

No I do not mean long term. I mean tomorrow you might run a game, hear pop, see smoke, and have no more computer. I have personally dealt with fried PCs from CM Thunder PSUs.

Another thing to worry about is that your PSU specifically is tested and known to have 100mv+ ripple at over 50% load. This is TERRIBLE and IS going to shorten the life of your components like the GPU if it doesn;t completely kill them first.

Temperature have little to do with it. The only time I have seen a PSU cause overheating is when it was overvolting. Running a power hungry card like the 290x on a subpar 600w PSU is just asking for trouble.
