I'm running an Alienware X51 lower model with the i3 and the gtx 645, I want to be able to upgrade my graphics card a little more to run modern games better. I play games like Arma 3, CS:GO, and Payday 2, and I'm thinking about buying GTA V for PC soon so I would like to be able to run it well. I want to know which options are available to me without modification to my case if possible. I hear people talking about installing a Geforce GTX 760 in there's and I'm wondering if this is possible for me, and if its even worth it. (I'm not very great with computers, so it being put into the simplest form possible to understand would be appreciated XD )

Specs:
Windows 7 (possibly upgrading to Windows 10)
Intel Core i3-4130 CPU @ 3.40GHz
6 GB Ram (Soon upgrading to 12 GB)
GeForce GTX 645

Thanks for any help!

go to the support site for your model of Alienware and see what motherboard it has. then do the same for the motherboard's support site. one of them will show what type of interface your motherboard has available for GPUs.

you the better to change the new PSU(330W), then you can upgrade the maximum GPU 960; i have a AX51R2, i7-4970, i use the EVE 960 super clock 4G (mim size), the computer runs well , and never shut down with the 330W PSU

leave the ram alone, put that money away for a future cpu upgrade.

upgrade to the 330w power unit if you dont have that.

Then you can get a gtx 960. HUGE upgrade.

that is a pretty weak setup. you will not be playing GTAV or Arma 3 at very high settings or at a very high resolution. if you don't have a few $1000 to spend yo will not get a very nice Alienware. and it's not even that they are high quality and worth the money, it's just that Dell charges exorbitant amounts just for that logo for some reason. my laptop from a few years ago has better hardware in it and i only paid a couple hundred more than this X51.
you're better off starting a thread here asking for complete builds under $800-1000. hopefully you didn't purchase one of those, but if you did; good luck.
