Alright, so I put in a new corsair 450w psu and my standard Ibuypower cpu cooler and my computer won't start up. I also took my new fx 8350 out this computer and put it in another, and put my old fx 6300 in this one. I mean, i press the power button, its on , all the fans spin, except for the cpu cooler's fan. Also, on my TV the computer doesn't produce a signal, like it says "connecting" for a moment and then it just goes "no signal". When I turn the pc on, the power button glows, the cpu fan has a light that goes on, everything else is worker, but the fan isn't spinning on the cpu cooler. And then, if i press the power button to turn the pc off, it doesn't turn off. the pc only turns off if i flip the switch or unplug it. Any idea what's not working.

Just a guess but it seems you have not correctly swapped the PSU and all it's connections. Did you use bot the 24 and 6 pin connectors on the MB? If so make sure they are properly seated into the sockets. The 24 pin can take some doing as it must go all the way in and lock with it's tab engaged. Are all the required power leads in place for the Graphics card...check then also. And make sure you have attached the CPU fan to the correct header on the MB. Lastly go over everything you touched as one or more of those is an issue.

Alright, so i checked all the pins in the psu, made sure they were in the right place. It's semi modular so the non-removable 6 pin is in the mobo and the 24 pin is in its spot. I removed those and put them in securely in the mobo. The gpu doens't have any power connectoers, it only has to be attached to the mobo via the pcie slot. I had this pc working for the past 2 years, and swapped the cpu and then put it back in today. So i know its compatible. The cpu fan is now spinning, I think i may have messed up the fan mechanism,

Tried again, everything seems to work, but i get no visuals on the screen and the computer won't turn off w/o unplugging or flipping the switch.

Swapping the cpu would set the bios to default. If your cpu has integrated video, you may need to reselect the discreet card as the default video solution in the bios. If the cpu has it's own video, try attaching the monitor to the integrated video output first. If you have visuals then reselect the card in the bios. Check the wiring from the case switches (on/off button and reset button) to the MB. Sounds like you may have dislodged a connection. Can you enter the bios and see it on your screen or is everything dark? Just for a check put the original video card back in and see if you get display.
