When upgrading to windows 10 my PC BSODs at around ~11% of the upgrade (copying files) with a CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT. I cannot manage to get the dump because it blue screens whilst updating and doesn't show up on BlueScreenView. If anyone could help with this problem it would be greatly appreciated as I would like to upgrade. Thanks for reading.

EDIT: I have not overclocked at all.

update BIOS to get any USB fixes, update USB 3.0 drivers and the CPU chipset drivers (to get USB 2.0 fixes) before you update to windows 10. If you have a old usb device, update its driver also. (old usb wireless ethernet adapters) I would also remove any "special" USB devices that I did not need to actually boot the system.
You might also find that if you plug your USB devices into a USB 2.0 port it will have a better chance of working.

Replying to this thread because it's one of the first Google results. I solved my problem by disabling AMD overdrive and all over clocking features for my GPU and CPU

overclocking can cause the hardware to miss a timing signal in its electronics/driver. Later a software timer goes off and bugcheck the system on the assumption of hardware failure. Removing overclocking in BIOS, CPU and GPU should be done before you start to look at the USB problems. The USB problems are the most common source when not overclocking.
