i have a Fx-6300 from amd and the stock cooler fan is terribly loud. im about to buy and aftermarket cooler, but in the meantime can i replace the stock 80mm fan with a cooler-master sickleflow 120mm fan (since i have few of them lying around.)? it will propably have a cost of a little less cooling performance but will it work at all?

Ehh, if you can find a way to strap it to the heatsink, it may work. Can't guarantee it will work better, though.
