Can I overclock my core 2 duo e8400 with my g41m-vs3 motherboard?

Hi guys,recenty I bought a new video card-gtx 960 2gb.But when im playing games the cpu cant seem to keep with the card and im getting stutters and high cpu usage.So I was wondering can I overclock my core 2 duo e8400 3.0 ghz with my g41m-vs3 8gb ram motherboard and to how much ghz?

i can tell you u that pretty much any Core 2 Duo Processor can overclock on almost any LGA 775 motherboard that was sold at the time,(Non OEM) . not like now where in the "K" series is going to cost a premium . But with LGA 775 you can adjust the FSB and Memory speed and timings manually , .. oh and the PCI-E frequency needs to be turned down usually once you crank up the FSB. i will try to find a good link

why yes. Well at least change some settings. it is not the beefiest LGA 775 'board around but the E8400 can clock well on air even with G41 chipsets. You may get the frequency up to 3.5-3.8GHz, maybe....

I did use a Core 2 pc but thanks to the Intel DG33TL , pretty much changing anything in the BIOS was Forbidden, and my Core 2 Q6600 was not overclocked, at least not be me.. Surely there is a G41 CHipset overclock review or guide.
