So the story is that I bought a very general tower many years ago and when needed I upgraded the parts i.e. RAM, hard drives, graphics, OD, PSU. The only stock parts left in the tower are the CPU, motherboard, and the case itself. So what I will be doing is taking all the parts out of this case and combining them with a new motherboard, CPU, and full tower case.

My question is, is there a way to just move my hard drive without formating and reinstalling my copy of windows, all of my files (regular videos, pics, music, docs) are on a separate hard drive
but all my games and programs are installed on my main OS drive

Current Setup:

FOXCONN 2A92
Amd Athlon II X4 630
2x8 G Skill ripjaw (moving to new tower)
EVGA GTX 960 (Moving)
Thernaltake 450 watt (moving)

The new PC (all parts with a price are to be purchased

Any help would be appreciated as this is my first ever full build

Solution
You should perform a clean install because the main OS drive is customized to your current hardware. It could work on a new build, but it would not be stable.
