Final thoughts on this build? (First build)

Let me explain why I chose the parts I did.

TL;DR It's my first build and I need some opinions. Scroll down to see the build.

850W PSU for that? Yes! I plan on overclocking my CPU+GPUs and doing 2-way SLI in the future.

Keep in mind that this here was originally going to be my build - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/db9HFT but I changed the CPU to buy a better monitor, considering I can just overclock the i5 to preform like the i7.

People suggested the 980 over the 970, but the performance difference is so marginal, it doesn't justify me spending nearly an extra $200 for it. Same can be said with the i7 vs i5 (plus the fact that I'm overclocking).

OS - Windows 10 is pretty awesome so far. It seems to have good compatibility with games, old and new, so I said why not! I just really like the OS, and considering the fact that it will someday support DX12, there's no reason not to upgrade IMO.

The RAM? Yea, it's a little overkill. Too late to change that.

CPU Cooler? Read the first and second paragraphs.

Monitor - Like in the second paragraph, I was going to get a 144Hz 24" monitor, but instead swapped my CPU to something similar and used the extra $100 on a 27" HQ monitor.

Case Fans - What can I say? I really don't feel like spending too much money on these because they aren't that important to me. But I figured I'd go with something on the cheap side. Sickleflow it is.

HDD/SSD - One for storage/recordings and one for OS/Programs. What else is there to say?

MOBO/Tower - Like the title says, this is my first build. Can't really say much about these, but the case looks very roomy with plenty of extra space for upgrades. USB 3.0 will help my external drives.

Optical Drive - Why would you NOT want one? I know the digital revolution is among us, but why would you abandon the good ol' disc drive?

Well, that's my explanation for my choices. Feel free to post suggestions/opinions down below.

Update as of 8/12/15: I have purchased all of the parts above and should have the build complete by august 20th. Thanks to everyone who has replied to this topic.

That's a good computer. I have a 4690K and GTX 970 myself and I can say it's a really good combination. I say don't buy quite yet though because Skylake is just right around the corner. If you already bought the CPU then that's OK because skylake isn't going to be a massive upgrade anyway. But still skylake will be better.

Also, you can't overclock the Core i5 to reach Core i7 performance in all areas. For gaming yeah but not for video editing or other multithreaded workloads. An unlocked 4.6GHz Core i5 might get close to the multithreaded performance of a Core i7 4770 or Xeon E3 1231v3 but not a 4790K.

I don't really know what Skylake is. And yes, I did over-exaggerate some things in this thread. I didn't want to sound too rambley, so I tried my best to make everything quick and to the point.

Also if you have any part suggestions, here is a list of things I haven't bought yet:

CPU
Motherboard
Graphics Card
Case
Power Supply
Monitor

Do you possibly know how much any of these new CPUs will cost?

I don't think the US prices have been revealed yet. I've heard that they will cost about 10% more than current CPU's but only offer 4% to 8% more performance. http://diy.pconline.com.cn/675/6751941_all.html The link goes to the Chinese website that posted the Skylake benchmarks. No word on whether those benchmarks are real though.
