In the hopes of selling my first built PC, I went on and cleaned its innards... carefully removed the wirings one by one, cleaned one by one and then reconnected one by one so I'd never forget where to plug certain cables.

Before I asked in the forum if I could hook the SSD ad HDD in the same cable to the PSU and gave the specs of the parts... I was confident that the answer was ok, since if I'm not mistaken, it's from a moderator... :-/ but turned out, as I plugged the PC and started it, it started to smell burnt.

Here are the full specs of the PC:

-Motherboard: Asus p8zz-i delux widi
-Cooler: Corsair H80
-PSU Cooler master silent pro 750W
-Memory: corsair vengeance 8
-Processor: i7 3770k
-Hard drive 256 ssd + 2 terra hard drive
-Graphic card: gtx 670 asus oc top ii
-Monitor: asus pa238q
- Case: BitFenix Prodigy

Cooler and fans are working, there's a red led light that blinks in the mobo just as I start the PC, the PC asks for the admin password, I enter it and a blackscreen shows up as it starts up. Says it couldn't recognize the device (SSD where windows is installed). So it doesn't get past the black screen.

Tried using 2 separate power cables for SSD and HDD again. Turned on, but seems not working eitherway.

I smell something burned inside but couldn't pointout which is the source.

Help? Any unclear points, just ask and I'll answer... any help will be gladly appreciated.

Solution
Burnt smell often means that a power connector wasn't plugged in right, or is miswired from the factory. You should be able to tell pretty easily which it is; it'll be blackened when you unplug it.
