I recently updated to windows 10 and everytime i try to play a game the nvidia driver crashes and sends me back to the desktop. I am running an overclock which I have been running on windows 7 for about a year without a single crash. Does anybody know what is going on with this as I am keen to keep my overclock. I have attached a picture of my overclocked settings.

the default settings are a GPU boost clock of 1072 and a memory clock of 6008

My scenario was a Windows 10 upgrade from a mostly patched/updated Windows 8.1 install with official Nvidia drivers (via Nvidia website). The Windows 10 video drivers were installed via Windows Update after Windows 10 was installed successfully (these work just fine for me).

However when I installed Windows 10, I chose to not keep settings/applications (psudo-clean install). I'm unaware if existing video drivers are conflicting with updated Windows 10 video drivers (my Windows 10 install required me to install updated video drivers to get access to the full range of resolution on my displays, clearly my old Windows 8.1 Nvidia (GTX 980) video drivers were not carried over into Windows 10).

Long story short, in my case, my old Windows...

I got my video drivers from Windows Update (they are official nvidia drivers with nvidia control panel and geforce experience etc...).

I have heard a lot of issues with people trying to install drivers from nvidia's website on Windows 10.

Hope it helps, good luck!

Long story short, in my case, my old Windows 8.1 Nvidia GPU driver did not carry over into my Windows 10 update, nor conflict with it. I just had to 'Windows Update' to get my GPU back into working (hardware accelerated) order.

Best of luck.
