I have WD Mybook 1TB with all family photos and vids, but now for some reason i can't access the disk, it tells me that formating is necessary. SMART shows, that disc have RAW read errors and Pending sectors.
Is it somehow possible to save my data on such disc?
Thanks for any help

Welcome to the community, swoop_name!

I'm sorry to hear about your WD My Book issues and your family photos. :( Unfortunately, the HDD being RAW means that a file system corruption has occurred. You could try recovering it using third-party software tools but I wouldn't recommend it if the data is so important to you (especially when you have damaged HDD sectors as well). The best bet at retrieving your family photos would be a professional data recovery service. I'd suggest you to take a look at WD's international data recovery partners on our website: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=y7KKns
While at it, you can also check the warranty of your WD My Book external drive: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=oDLnUM

If it's still covered, you should contact our customer support and send an RMA request to get a replacement.

In the future, I'd strongly recommend you to keep at least two copies of your files on two different locations. Having backups is the only way to avoid the headaches of data loss. :/

Good luck! Hope this helps you!

Thanks for answer SuperSoph_WD. Unfortunatelly is my MyBook out of warranty. I know, that is my fault when i dont have important files on more places, but now its too late. What made me angry is, that i used this disk only 5 times (even when i put lot of photos and vids in it). I had to use DVD or BD, chance to loose data on all discs is much less and the price also...
Now the only chance to save my data is pay lot of money (about 10000CZK - thats about 400USD) for professional recovery service...
