Full story: (yes it's quite long but it might be important)

So, a couple of weeks ago I decided to replace my old gpu and psu (it seemed to malfunction) with a gtx960 2gb msi twin frozr and a cooler master g550m (full system spec listed below).

After installing these, as you do, the system would take very long to boot (windows 8.1).
The first time booting it got stuck at the blue windows icon, the second time it would actually load it up properly but taking a long time (taking 2-3 minutes, NOTE: this was not the case with my old gpu, it took 30-40 sec.)
It also wouldn't show splash screens and, like I said, took ages to boot. It would stay stuck at a mostly black screen, with a non blinking underscore in the top left and B2 in the bottom right of the screen.

I ignored this for a while, figured I'd just make a good cup o' coffee everytime I booted it up. :p
Until I wanted to install Windows 10 just now..

I made a bootable USB and tried to go into BIOS to change my boot priority. This is where the problem becomes real, it seems that my oc doesn't only not show the splash screens, it completely skips them. I have mashed my delete key on startup severel times, after that and at the same time also the f11 boot priority key and all that would happen was a text appearing in the bottom left saying something like "entering installation" and after that just a black screen (I tried this both with the bootable usb connected and not connected).

Remembering that my BIOS DID work with my old gpu (560ti from a company called "sparkle") I tried going back to that.
Luckily, this worked and could install windows 10 without any problems whatsoever.
I then uninstalled the 560ti in device manager, removed it from mboard and even did a cmos reset. Then inserted the gtx960 and long behold, same old sh*t again.

Current problems in short:

Long boot time (stuck quite a while at the mentiond black screen with text "_" and "B2"
No splash screens (SO, NO chance getting in BIOS with new gtx960 gpu)
If I wanted to get into BIOS I'd have to install my old gpu

Important to know:

- Tried restarting several times
- went to reset cmos before directly after uninstalling old gpu and right before the new one
- pc works completely normal with old gpu
- gtx960 is/was recognized in windows 8.1 and 10 and functions normal after the booting
- LEGAL windows version
- I do still have warranty on the card

To all future retards like me, who also happen to have a fairly old motherboard and a pretty new gpu: Updating bios can solve your problems, simply download bios update onto a usb drive, run it and sit back. Thank you all very much!
