So this is the list of parts I am looking to get to watercool my 4690k and my msi gtx 970 gaming 4g edition.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Other: ALPHACOOL NEXXXOS ST30 FULL COPPER 360MM
Other: EK-SUPREMACY MX CPU WATERBLOCK - CUSTOM MODDED PLEXI - DRAGON
Other: EK-FC970 GTX TF5 FULL COVER WATERBLOCK - NICKEL PLEXI
Other: AQUACOMPUTER AQUALIS XT 880ML
Other: PrimoChill Base High Purity Deionized Water - UV RED
Other: MAYHEMS ULTRA CLEAR TUBING 3/8" X 5/8"
Other: Swiftech MCP655

I will have to get some compression fittings, as well as fans so I will add that in, but just wanted to run it by someone experienced. I plan to fit this all in a Fractal Define S case. Any feedback is appreciated!

Loop order doesn't matter; and there is really only a small difference in water temps from one point to another once the loop reaches working equilibrium.

Hopefully your build goes well, let us know if there are other things you need help with.

The pump that you are getting is big, a lot bigger than I was expecting when I got it. You will also want hose clamps because that pump does not use fittings, it has its own built in barbed fitting.

That reservoir is a pump/res combo so you will either have to choose a new res or skip the pump and use the one that comes with the res, or you can use both to move the water in the system faster. But the Swiftech pump is personally my favorite.

Everything else seems good, just make sure your fittings fit your tubing! xD

I've done so much more research after this thread, I will be going with a 200-250ml reservoir, I obviously didn't understand how big that one is. Since this thread I have measured my case and worked out some plans, including the possible loop order I want to achieve. I want a tube res just because they seem more aesthetically pleasing to me, and I have no bay drives on the design S - but even then I would go with a tube res.

I am considering something like this: http://www.performance-pcs.com/primochill-ctrtm-compression-tube-reservoir-system-phase-2-d5-enabled-240mm-clear.html#Features

I read some other threads saying that loop order doesn't matter, the temp changes are really just ~3-5c, so based on that I am still trying to figure out the best tube routing option for the build.
