Hello everyone!

I built my computer a few months ago and a while ago it started having some weird power problems. At first my computer wouldn't turn on for a while after force shutdown(Holding power button because of crashes etc.). And now the computer won't start up for more than one minute. The only way(I've experienced) to start up the computer is by unplugging both SATA cables to the harddrives, power up, wait for it to shut down after 1 min, replug cables, turn on. This normally works, and the computer runs well with no restarts or random shutdowns.
(PS: This problem only appears if the PC has been powered off for a long time, that's every day after I wake up.)

What I've tried:
- Replugged my RAM, all cables and Graphics card.
- Booted without any SATA cables on the motherboard
- Waiting in BIOS for 1 minute(No positive result, still shutdown..)
- Starting up with no external cables connected(usb, dvi etc..)
- Replaced Motherboard battery

About my PC:
- Never overheating, no temperatures is over 45 degrees Celsius(on all components)

Specs:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte z97x gaming 3
- CPU : Intel core i7 4790k (Not overclocked)
- PSU : Corsair RM850
- RAM : 4x4gb
- GPU: GTX 970 Strix
- OS : Windows 10
- HDD : 1TB Seagate
- SSD : 256GB Crucial M550

I'm pretty sure the problem isn't my hard drives, because the PC wont start for more than 1 minute without them plugged in either.

More description of the shutdown after 1 minute:
It shuts down without warning, and a second after is looks like it tries to start up again, but then completely dies. This is what happened before when I tried to start up after a force restart. The problem is solved by unplugging the power cable for a little while.

I really hope you have a solution for me! $5 to the one who does(PayPal)!
I thank you all very much!

Solution
That PSU isn't even that good quality. This could be the issue, but I am guessing it is just a bad motherboard.

Try with each stick or RAM individually. If that does not work, I would just replace the motherboard.

The computer shuts off with no warning or shutdown screen. And 1 second after the shutdown it tries to power itself up, but it can't, so the fans just spin a little and then stop(about 1 sec). If I now press the power button the computer won't start until i replug the power cable(And now it boots up with no shutdowns).

Well, the temperatures go over 45c when playing games, but as long as the PC is just booting up or beeing idle it's always below 45c.

Crashing isn't really my problem.. I crash once in a month because of some fullscreen/widowed mode problems. I can live with that, but the unexpected shutdown EVERYDAY after 1 min is really annoying.

I've realized myself that it's some kind of hardware problem, but all the parts are just a few months old. It's weird. But no, I haven't tried to boot with one stick of RAM. I'll try that tomorrow morning. Do you have any other suggestions I can do except for replacing parts?

(I have a friend with the same PSU, should I ask him if I could try it on my computer?)

Ok, I'll try the RAM tomorrow and I'll ask my friend. If that doesn't work I'll check if I have warranty on my MB. Thank you for your help! I'll update you later on how it worked out.

I'm back with new information.
This morning I booted up with NO GPU and ONE stick of RAM. --> SUCCESS! No shutdown!
I put back the RAM(in different spots than last time), and the GPU back. I'll see tomorrow morning if the boot is normal!

I will try a memtest when I get home from work. I don't really know anything about memtests, do you mind explaining a little? And maybe send me a link?
(I tried to boot up the PC again this morning and unfortunately it shut down. So It's probably the RAM, or the GPU)

I ran one time and got a PASS. No errors..
It it supposed to run for more than one PASS?

I've ran the memtest now, no errors and I've also booted with one stick of RAM, and it doesn't work, it still shuts down after one minute. So it seems to me like it's the GPU causing the shutdown(Because it doesn't shut down if I boot without GPU and with one stick of RAM as I did the other day). It doesn't stop the boot, it just shuts down in the middle of browsing or whatever, just 1 minute after startup.

Yes, but it's weird, because after the first shutdown and some unplugging and replugging the PC works as normal..
But yes, I'll ask my friend if I can try his PSU :)
