Can I put everything together and configure BIOS a day or two before installing OS

I just received every part of my first pc except my OS, and I was curious if it's okay to get everything together and working while I await for my OS to come over the next few days. I'm sorry for a question that's a little stupid, I just don't want to mess anything up, thanks.

Also, I'm tempted to download a copy of linux for temporary use to make sure my pc is functioning well and then possibly setting up a dual boot. I only have a usb flash drive to store it to though.

Solution
Sure thing, at least be able to get an idea of whether the system even boots up and runs properly. Then you can get into more detailed set up once you receive OS.

Thanks!! I've been looking forward to piecing everything together so I'm glad I can do it now.
