Gigabyte 970 GTX G1 vs. just announced GTX 970 Twin Turbo

Not sure if it's a sign or not, but as I was just about to pull the trigger on a Gigabyte 970 G1, I saw this story about a new version of the card. In case you haven't seen it:

It looks like the out of the box clock speed of the G1 will still be slightly higher, but will this new Twin Turbo be better? Better cooling, etc? I'm only planning to get one card now, but could possibly get another for SLI sometime in the future. It this new cooling system really only better for SLI? Would it be worse for a single card setup than the G1 cooling?

New design? Not really.
It meant to improve cooling for cards in SLI. So for two GTX 970, the cooler allows better cooling for the top and bottom card. For a single card, the G1 gaming would be better and quieter.
