Hello all, let me start by providing my computer specs

CPU: AMD FX 8350 Black edition 8 core running at 4.4ghz each
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16gb (2x8gb sticks) DDR3 1866 (running at 1333)
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 6 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD
GPU:SAPPHIRE DUAL-X 100373L Radeon R9 280 3GB 384-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0
OS:Windows 7 Home premium edition

Hello all, so I upgraded my ram, from 4 sticks of 4gb each pny standard desktop ram, running at 1333 to the corsair vengeance pro 2 sticks 8gb 1866.

Upon entering the bios, to ensure the ram was running at proper speeds, i enabled XMP profile 1 and it set them to 1866. However, when booting it would get stuck at the mobo logo screen. I had to shut down the computer, and it then stated the bios had become corrupt and loaded the optimized defaults.

I am looking for a way to get this memory to run at the 1866 speed, I have yet to do any other tinkering for fear of doing more harm then good.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

oik

Thank you for the answer, i don't know how to enable DOCP on my current motherboard, however i did raise the speed manually to 1866 and upped the dram voltage by .05

However, I am still getting the boot loop issue and then bios corruption
