1600mhz ram work with not supported mhz cpu

My dad bought me a wrong mhz ram. He bought me 1600 mhz ram while my i3-530 support only 1066/1333. Can i use it?

RAM should down-clock automatically to what your CPU can handle. I am using 2400Mhz RAM on a stock Intel G3258 (1333Mhz stock speed). My UEFI also allows me to select various memory profiles from 1066Mhz up to 2400Mhz.

As long as the motherboard and CPU supports DDR3 RAM it will run at those clock speeds specified by the motherboard/cpu.
