I recently built a new pc and all it does is crash. Windows crashes, games always crash, internet explorer is a disaster and just about anything else crashes. I have no idea what this is caused by. I tested the ram and there's no errors, the cpu is brand new, the power supply is enough for my system and the hard drive is also new. I've had a couple other boards on this hard drive before so I don't know if its old drivers causing instability which I think it might be but I need help. I cant play a game for more then 10 minutes without crash or bsod and programs crash and are also unstable. The ram runs at 1600mhz and my cpu runs at 3.5ghz and the gpu runs at 3500mhz if that means anything. Please help me solve these crashes.

cpu - fx 8320
gpu - R9 280x
ram - PNY 8gbs 1600mhz
psu - corsair cx600
moboard - ASUS m5a97 le r2.0
case - corsair carbide with 3 fans
cooler - hyper 212 evo

If you overclocked anything, bring it back to default factory settings.

Also the CX is a terrible PSU for gaming or overclocking, it is a Tier 4 PSU.

Atleast get a Tier 2 PSU. PSU Requirements are on the bottom right of this reply. Also read PSU Buy Guide near the bottom of the PSU Requirements.

As LuckyB said - reset CMOS to default values first. It could very well be a shit power supply, that gives some weird ass errors.

Still crashes clean install windows.
If it still crashes try testing the ram / ram-slots. One stick at the time etc.
Still crashes take everything out that is not essential to the function of the computer: GPU etc.

Sometimes the event log viewer will show you what happens.

Could be the ram

Ok so what psu would you recommend for serious gaming?

I did some thinking and I think it is a bad psu because with my previous system I used a bronze certified 500 watt psu. I was able to play any game I wanted with no crashes and if I did crash it was because of crap heat management.
