Hello i decided to upgrade my graphics card my old nivida gtx 680 was starting to get slow. so i went down to frys and the guy talked me in to a R9 360. took out my old graphics card pluged in the new one hooked a dvi cable up to it turned my pc on and the screen was black. i thought ok maybe just needs drivers. so i hook up my screen to my motherboard and put in the driver install CD that came with the card. I try and open it and nothing happens. try again and a little command prompt box poped up in the left hand corner and then went away. weird i thought so i went to AMD website download catalyst install manger. it installed and then would not open. still confused i tried downloading the drivers for the card from AMD still nothing. I dont know what to do any help would be great. PS. the fans on the graphic card are spinning so i know its getting power and on.

specs are Windows 8.1, i7, MSI z97 gaming 7 motherboard, 12 gb of ram, power supplie is cx750 corsair.

Did you try to disable onboard graphics or switch to PCI graphics in your motherboard's BIOS?

You can also try (I am not 100% certain you can cross brands for a PhysX dedicated card, I never tried it) to put both cards in the system and hook up the monitor to the GTX 680. Then delete the AMD drivers and download the latest from the AMD website.

Kind regards

I returned the R9 and picked up a nivida GTX 970. Never had any of the isses I had with the R9. It just works! I took a risk going with AMD never bought any of their stuff. After that I will never again go with AMD!
