How does 1080p look on a 1440p monitor?

How would a 1440p IPS 27" monitor @60Hz look when set to 1080p?

I want to pick up the monitor ASAP but will be lacking the horsepower to run it for a little while and was wondering if it looks alright or is it kind of blurry like 1080p -> 720p.

1080p on a 1440p monitor is meh... monitors always look better in there native resolution. it depends on the scaling. I tried putting resolution on metro last light to 1080p on my ROG SWIFT(1440p 1ms) and I don't know if I was just used to 1440p, or it looked alittle hazy..
