I recently got my new computer 3-4 days ago and I've been playing games like metro last light, ARK survival evolved, planetside 2, etc. and I've been noticing while playing these games I'm usually 80-81 Celsius on my graphics card. My cpu is fine but it's just my graphics card. I just want to know if that is ok and it wont damage it and shorten the life span of the card.

Your temps are a bit above average ( http://www.pcgameware.co.uk/reviews/graphics-cards/pny-geforce-gtx-960-graphics-card-review/ ) At 80 c. you're just at the point where it wont cause damage, its just reaching pretty high. Would recommend getting some more airflow in your case.

You can do few things. First enable vsync for games that averages above 60FPS. But i f you don't like v-sync then that's not an option to you. Second instead of let driver/the card itself controlling the fan let 3rd parry softwares like MSI AB control the can speed by using user define fan curve setting. Sometimes it can yield better result than auto fan control. Finally 80c while it is quite high given today standard that is still considered as normal. Start worry when the temps reach 90c range.
