Hey guys..
So my friend built this PC for me (since I know next to nothing about PCs) and used an old friend's hard drive.
I've tried a million different ways to install an OS, even trying Ubuntu, but it won't work. Keep getting all sorts of errors. Mostly that the boot manager is missing or corrupt. And a lot of online suggestions say it may be bad sectors on the HD.
Anyway, the HD is about 9 years old. So I figured if I upgraded, that might fix my issues.
However...I have no idea where to begin when it comes to finding a compatible hard drive. I was hoping to get some advice?
Here are my specs minus the HD:
CPU: AMD fx 8 core processor
RAM: PNY 4 GB RAM ddr3
Motherboard: Asus M5A 78L-M USB3
Graphics Card: EVGA GTX 750
