Hey there guys. I have a motherboard that has sli and crossfire capabilities. i just upgraded to an MSI Radeon R9 290 and my old graphics card is just sitting around. and i was thinking about using it with my 290 through crossfire. its a Radeon R5 230. will it work? im also using the ASUS M5A99FX PRO 2.0 motherboard. i just dont want the old gpu to collect dust and if it helps give better performance then why not.
I also am using a 900watt power supply, 8 core processor w/ liquid cooling, 8 gb ram, 1 tb hdd

Solution

no, same model gpu only

i.e 290 + 290

all you could do is run them both and have 1 monitor connected to each for example
