Hello all,
The title basically describes all that I want to know. Google Chrome tends to use a lot of my CPU and memory so I want an alternate solution.
Specs (I don't know if they matter):
i7-4790k @4.0ghz
MSI GTX 970
Windows 7
16GB RAM

Thank You In Advance :)

Solution
Google chrome intentionally uses a lot of memory to avoid crashing the whole thing when something goes wrong. If you want something small for the sake of being small and performance doesn't matter try Internet explorer.

Thanks for the help but thats kind of what I didn't want to have to do. I don't like the way it feels. Any other suggestions?

Smaller programs do not run faster or are necessarily more stable. Really google chrome is taking up 50mb of memory .01 percent cpu. When you have 16 GB of RAM and a modern cpu do you really think that a smaller web browser will make the PC noticeably faster? I don't mean to sound mean but what is the point of faster hardware if software isn't allowed to take advantage of it because it needs to be "lean"?

Now you could have another problem, like spyware if chrome is eating a ton of memory. Or even you ISP's dns server is crowded. How much resources is chrome using on your machine? What makes you think you need a smaller web browser?

I completely understand your point its just that I have to have multiple windows open to do what I do and I tend to game side by side as well. The game already take s lot out of the CPU and GPU.

I did a test today. I kept chrome and Batman Arkham Knight open. As expected, the temps shot up. I was at around 160 degrees Fahrenheit when I had both open. I had but three tabs open on chrome. The minute I closed chrome, the temps came down to 130-140. I will run the same "test" with internet explorer and firefox but I want to have another few browsers to check as well and I cannot decide which ones.
