I'll try to be as detailed as possible in this post.

I've had numerous problems with my new build (listed below), but I think I've solved all of them, excluding this one. At seemingly random times, my computer will lock up for about 30 seconds and then bluescreen, with the error "DPC_Watchdog_Violation".

I purchased a new processor (E1231 V3) and motherboard (MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition) just a few days ago, along with a new copy of Windows 8 (my previous build was not genuine). I installed Windows 8 onto a Samsung 840 SSD that I purchased a few months ago, but hadn't used yet. I had 8 running just long enough to download Windows 10, so I'm not sure if the problem is isolated to 10.

So, my current specs are as follows:
- Intel E 1231 V3 (with stock cooler)
- MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition
- Samsung 840 Evo 120gb
- Seagate 500gb HDD - has all the data from my old computer, including the operating system on it.
- Corsair Vengeance 16gb DDR3 1600mhz
- Evga GTX 660 2gb
- Corsair RM550

Some other miscellaneous stuff:
- 4 port unbranded PCI USB extender (problem occurs with or without it installed).
- NZXT blue lighting kit
- Asus disc drive (idk of the model number)
- 3 fans, all plugged into the motherboard (one case fan is plugged in the CPU2 slot because it wouldn't reach to another outlet)
- Fractal Design Define R4 case

My temps are under control as far as I know. The max temp my CPU reaches under 75% load (playing Cities: Skylines) is about 62c. The max temp my GPU reaches is 80c, with the fan at about 55%.

I've turned off fast boot, and reinstalled basically all drivers that I can find on my machine.

Any help with this would be great. Thanks!

Samsung Magician says I'm up to date. Is it possible that the HDD would be causing the error? I unplugged it and it's been about a half hour without a crash.

Run memtest86+ booted from an USB thumb drive

installed spacer between case and Motherboard?

Run Intel processor diagnostics tool

Any anti virus and firewall installed?

Which bios version is installed now?

All power connectors plugged in? Especially the 8 pin atx12v and the pcie connector

Yes, still dpc watchdog violation. I was running 353.62, and rolled back 353.49 to see if it was the driver's fault. (It wasn't). I also stress tested my GPU last night, it didn't crash in the 30 minutes I ran Valley Unigine.

I'm currently installing Windows Debugger so I can read the .dmp files.

Motherboard is installed correctly, no antivirus besides the default windows defender. Bios version is from January (there is a newer version with support for the newest Intel chips. MSI installer is being stupid though.)

The dump files are pointing to two different locations. 4 of the 6 dump files mark nvlddmk.sys (something to do with Nvidia) as the source, the other two say ntoskrnl.exe (nt+14d220) is the problem.

My Nvidia driver has caused other problems too. I get a message saying the driver has crashed and then recovered, and whatever game I'm in freezes until it's force closed.

Could this possibly mean my graphics card is failing?

I flashed the newest bios version 2 hours ago. The only problem I've run into since then is a graphics driver failure (which I temporarily fixed by swapping my 660 with an old 610). Let's hope things keep going right.

Ran just fine overnight. I'm really confused because the 660 worked just fine a week ago in my old build, and it seems like the drivers are causing this problem, but no one else has the same problem. I think at this point I might just spend some money to get a new card.

Edit: Turns out I still have a warranty through EVGA on the 660. I'm going to trade that in, and if it still doesn't work, at least I have a better condition 660 to sell.
