I'm scared, I had a lot of important things and I'm considering buying an entirely new custom built PC from someone but I want to make sure I can have all my stuff from my old Hard drive (windows 7)

It was a factory pc if that matters.

Solution
You should be able to install the old drive into a new pc and then drag and drop files between the old and new drive to save your stuff. You can't transfer programs. They will have to be installed clean on the new drive, including windows, but you can transfer files. After you have the stuff you want transferred, you can format the old drive and use it as a secondary drive for bulk storage in the new system.
