Factory PC 4-5 years old, with a replaced power supply & video card/network adapter.
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M3A78CM/

The sb_pwr light on the motherboard flashes every few seconds, I bought a new power supply after googling and that seems to not have been the problem.

It all started when I was playing games on my PC, I could hear it being overheated (didn't clean it for 6 months) then it shut down, and I had to wait a while before I could reboot it, then a week later I turned off my pc before going to sleep, woke up and it wouldn't turn on anymore.

I think it's the motherboard but I can't afford to replace this PC right now, I'm in a bit of a bind financially and I'm trying to learn how to code.

I'm really hoping it's not the motherboard.

I also can't find a way to reset the cmos to see if that will help at all. (This motherboard is super old and I think it doesn't have a way for me to do it manually.)

Hmm it does seem like a PSU problem but if you changed it, It also could be a CPU problem. a dead CPU would cause your pc not to boot..since you need a CPU for the computer to boot.

It sounds to me that your CPU over heated and died

Heres a new CPU that is supported by your motherboard
http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Phenom-3-4Ghz-512KB-4000MHZ/dp/B002SRQ214

Im also sorry to hear about the problem this is giving you, Im sure its really stressful.

but if you have any other question just message me or reply to the thread

Hey I lifted my heatsink and I noticed there was no thermal paste (it dried I guess?) do you think that plays a part, I don't know the importance to thermal paste, I never changed it since I bought the PC.
