So yesterday my gpu failed and i am looking for a new one. I'm still thinking that is 450w psu enough for the inno3d ichill gtx 960 ultra. On their website it says that the minimum psu wattage for that card is 500w but on gigabytes gtx 960 it is 400w. Same what is on nvidia's website. Is 450w psu enough?

Max. Power of the card is just 40w higher than nvidias reference.

Thanks and sorry for my bad english, i'm from Finland. :)

The GTX 960 only require a quality 400-430W PSU that can deliver 20Amps or more on its +12V rail. The first most important criteria in selecting a PSU is to look for how many Amps it can deliver on its +12V rail, besides wattage. So make sure that the PSU you pick meets the minimum requirement of 20Amps...

Most of the graphics card manufacturers always list higher wattage requirement than what is really needed. Because consumers may buy a cheap crap 500W PSU or a quality 400W PSU. Hence they specify higher wattage requirement to be on the safer side.

Yes, a quality 450W is more than enough for the GTX 960.

Cheers!
