games suddenly running slow

there's a problem with my asus laptop.I used to play games like nfs mw2 and call of duty:modern warfare.they worked well. But suddenly all the games got slow suddenly slow. I've tried reinstalling the OS but it didn't work.

laptop specifications:
intel core i5 processor
4gb ram
nvedia GeForce 820m graphics card
windows 8.1
please help me solve this problem

If the laptop used to run these games then the specs must meet the min specs of the game. So first check for dust as this the most common issue with laptops. Then check the fans and other components for wear and tear. Then make sure that the temps are not too high while gaming.
