I just recently noticed this problem after my system started slowing down. I have a MSI GT70 with 8GB inbuilt RAM. The My Computer Properties Windows shows it as 8GB (7.89 GB Usable) but when press Ctrl+Shift+Escape and check in the Task Manager Performance tab - it shows 4.4 GB used and I am running only Mozilla Firefox with about 16 Tabs.
In the last two years or so I have never seen this before - only recently have I been facing this problem where even one browser or program completely occupies my RAM. Is it a software or hardware problem?
