I have this kit of 2x4GB ddr3 1600mhz 1.5v and one of these dimms has a VSS pin burnt BUT is working like a charm, i mean... no erors no bsods nothing, tested in memtest for at least 3-4 hours/blend test in prime95 for 2 hours and nothing, works perfectly.

my question is: Can i still use this kit without worrying too much?

Thanks!!!

Solution
The pin and therefore the DIMM must still be working despite it being burnt.

As stated before, if the DIMM works, then don't be too concerned about it. But, if you are really concerned, as it seems now, then get the DIMM replaced under warranty.

The whole pin is burned, not just some marks of burn :(

I can`t replace them under warranty... I get too manny question about this kit from kingston.eu,so i give up on them... I feel more concerned about my cpu IMC or ram slot...

Thanks!

If there is a concern about the memory slot and the memory controller, check the voltage settings in BIOS (DRAM voltage should be around 1.50 V, and memory controller voltage should be around 1.10 V).

Could also try, as a test, some other (disposable) memory and see what happens, in the event there is a problem with a particular slot or with the memory controller.
