Hey guys,

As the title says, can you guys help me out on a PSU that wont break the bank? And I'm limited to only a select number of PSUs here's the site where i can choose from ---> http://dynaquestpc.com/product-category/components/power-supply-psu/ .

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H
CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 up to 3.40GHz (Quad Core) Haswell Refresh Processor
GPU: Palit GeForce GTX 970 JetStream 4GB GDDR5 256Bit
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB Dual DDR3 1600 CL9
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB SSD
Case: Cooler Master N200 Clear Side Mini Tower Casing
Optical Drive: LG GH24NS95 24x DVD Writer
WiFi Adapter: TPLink TL-WN851N 300Mbps Wireless N PCI Adapter
Case Fan: NZXT FN 120RB 120mm Case Fan
Monitor: BenQ GW2255 21.5″; LED Monitor

Here's my build, so i need something that's not too much for this build.
Thanks in advance!

P.S.: Not looking for suggestion on the build just need suggestions for the power supply, and it would be great if it was from the list given above! ^_^

Solution

Yes you could use that as well. You may need to disable CPU C6/C7 power state support for the CPU in the motherboard's BIOS as the psu is not Intel Haswell ready. You can still use it but can't use Haswell low power states.

Seems like a good psu, do you think a 620w psu is necessary or would the 520w version be fine as well? Thanks for the reply :)

Oh I see, does the 620w version that you suggested support the Haswell low power states or is it the same case? Thanks.

No unfortunately the 620W version does not support Haswell low power states either.[/quotemsg]

That's completely fine, would it be a big let down or not really? And would the computer not startup without disabling CPU C6/C7 power state first? Or would it just be better to disable it? Thanks again

Normally C6/C7 is disabled by default, you just need to check in the bios if it is or not. The pc would crash at idle if you turn it on with a non-Haswell ready psu.
