Hey everyone,

I recently saw my SSD w/ my Win 7 OS going dead or failing. Boot MGR kept going missing, etc... so I replaced it and did a clean install on a new SSD. I neglected to get a fairly important document off of the former SSD / OS desktop. I just plugged the old SSD into a SATA port (was Optical Drive) which I know worked, but it's not showing up in Windows manager. Any ideas to test the drive, or ? I do have a Linux machine and several utilities, but I'm a bit rusty in this department... Any thoughts on how to recover or test the drive?

Big thanks in advance,
SK

Solution
I'd immediately go to a PC shop and have them look at it, if they see it's failing have them back everything up and go buy a new drive.

Yeah, it's dead. BIOS can't find it, and neither does a Linux live environment. Stinks. I dislike paying for computer service. Thanks for the reply. Just for everyone's information, it's an OCZ Agility 3 bought about about three years ago that failed. A Samsung 830 bought at the same time is still going strong. Cheers.
