Missing Hard Drive After Installing Windows 8

During the installation process of Windows 8, I deleted all my partitions (since I thought thats what you were supposed to do) and then installed Windows 8 on the primary partition. Now one of my Hard drives is missing, most likely due to the deletion of my partitions... I checked in my BIOS and I don't think its there either (hard to tell because I'm using some MSI bios like this one: http://images.anandtech.com/doci/5714/MSI%20BIOS%2010%2... )

Any help on retrieving my hard drive or did I accidentally combine the two hard drives? Is it really gone or do I have to unplug and replug it manually?

P.S. I already checked disk management, it isn't there either.

Solution
The BIOS (or the new UEFI) doesn't show partitions, it only shows physical drives, so that won't help you where partitions are concerned.

If you have two physically separate hard drives, there is no way you could have combined them.

If you only have one hard drive, and it now has only one (big) partition on it, the other partitions have been destroyed and cannot be recovered.
