Hi,

I'm thinking of getting a new pc for around 650-700 AUD and thought this would be a nice build:

Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Kingston HyperX Fury Blue 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Gigabyte Radeon R9 270 2GB WINDFORCE Video Card
CoolerMaster N300Centre Com Mid-Tower Case With 420W Power Supply
CPU: FX 6300 or FX 8320

I'm stuck on the cpu, I want one that is semi futureproof and wont slow down as programs become more demanding in the future.
Will the 8320 choice be a large difference for gaming/programming (I know it will be for multitasking)?

Also, If anyone has any ideas for changes in the build, please feel free to share them.

Thanks in advance.

Get the FX 8320, personally though I would also look at the 8350 for a little more futureproofing. But, if you wanted to save a little money you could get the 8320 and just OC it to reach 8350 speeds.

Don't skimp on the PSU, beside the fact that 420w is inadequate for that system, the psu that comes with that case is complete garbage and poses a danger to everything it powers. For those specs you want a good quality(tier 1 or 2) 500-550w PSU. That motherboard is not a good match for a 125w CPU, it has very weak VRMs and the 960g board have been known to cause throttling problems.

Thanks for the quick reply, what motherboard do you recommend that fits the budget?

anything less than 8350 is a waste of money imo. Its 4 year old technology that still dominates all but i7. Pay extra to get to 16gb memory (only $20-40). Since you're building, buy a nice case, and a proper PSU. I'm partial to my coolmaster storm trooper case, its absolutely massive in size, but I can fit anything into it. For PSU, I wouldn't settle for anything less than 750w. The PSU is the most important part of your gear.
