My computer + display work fine 99% of the time but i have a very frustrating issue when i boot up my PC....when i get to my windows login screen the screen tends to go blank (with the light indicating it as on) and if i turn the screen on and off a few times (sometimes as many as 10+!) it fixes the problem. Now i would put this down to an issue on my monitor but i tend to get video card crashes when i play games sometimes which does a similar thing where the screen goes black for a moment, then asks for VGA input, and then opens back up again stating i had a video card error.

Here is some info from my dxdiag

OS: Windows 7 Pro 64bit
Processor: AMD A6-5400k
RAM: 4096MB
DirectX version: DirectX11

Graphics Card: nVidia Geforce GTX 650
Main Driver: nvd3dumx.dll, nvwgf2umx.dll, nvwgf2
Version: 9.18.13.4709
Date: 12/07/2013 11:40:58
WHQL Logo'd: Yes
Other files:
Provider: Corsair

I use the nvidia software to update my drivers so i cant understand why i am having this issue but it is incredibly frustrating at times.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is beyond me! Thanks in advance :)

Solution
with amd and intel now there cpu have built in gpu. these ipgpu and windows can cause windows when it to start to bounce between the onboard video and a gpu to see which one has the display cable connected. to fix the bouncing make sure the mb bios is up to date. in the bios look for primany display if it set to auto or ipgup set it to peg/pci and make sure muilt monitor support is off to turn off the ipgpu and see if your error stops.
