Recently i got a nvidia 780Ti to replace my amd r9 270 so i could play my game on max settings with no slow down however since installing the new card everything runs fine until i put on my game and try running it at max(runs fine at medium settings) settings the monitor goes blank and the pc stays on fans running etc but is unresponsive and makes no sounds when i try to do anything. Initially i thought faulty card but i came across forums about my cpu an amd fx 9590 black edition which i tried some suggestions giving such as disable cool n quiet turn of c1e and c6 which i did and at first apart from some static through the speakers my game run fine on max settings but after a few hours the pc froze not going blank like before but just the picture froze on screen and pc was unresponsive.

Running msi afterburner and occt etc temps seem fine nothing ever goes above 60degrees cpu normally around 51 and gpu around 58 at highest before crashes

So is my graphics card faulty? does my cpu just suck? what could be wrong and ideas how to fix it?

Windows 7
AMD FX9590
8192MB RAM
Geforce 780 Ti
G7 780w Power Extreme

any help greatly appreciated

thanks

Solution
GeForce GTX 780ti - 42A and a 600W PSU minimum

The problem is most likely your PSU.

Your generic PSU cannot handle the Amps.
